Holiday Workshop – Day 2: Making a Dreamcatcher

Holiday Workshop – Day 2: Making a Dreamcatcher

Day 2 – In The Zone’s school holiday workshops had the children making their very own dream catcher. It certainly had them concentrating as they skillfully wound wool around a wooden circle, weaved their webs with string and knotted beads on their many strings of ribbon.

They also had the chance to draw their own feathers and cut them out. The feathers were then painted in many colours (on both sides) as well as decorate them with stripes, dots and other patterns. These feathers were then punched and tied to the ribbons alongside real, colourful feathers.

This was a great exercise in dexterity. They certainly had fun! Now each one of our students has a beautiful dream catcher to hang in their bedroom window or over their bed.
