School Holiday Workshops (July 2017)

Holiday ART madness!

Lots of laughter! Paint everywhere! Crazy amounts of creativity! Check out some of the art which was done during our July school holiday workshops.

Here are a few examples of the children’s work:

Paint-a-Canvas Project

Our little ‘Picassos’ drew and designed their own African sunset with silhouetted wild animals and acacias trees. They had huge fun practicing their drawings of the animals from 3D plastic toys and then, using carbon paper, traced their design onto their canvas. They learned to mix paint and blend colours with their fingers, and were introduced to the masking technique.

Oil Pastel Project

The learners drew portraits of each other. They learned how oil pastels mixed to make up other colours, and to apply thickly when they wanted to scratch patterns into the layers. This was a fun project.

‘Besties’ Project

Each learner was given a wooden heart to decorate for the bedroom door. Best friends traced each other’s hand onto their heart so they could be reminded of their ‘besties’ when they got home. Again they learned what they could achieve with the masking technique.

Our next holiday workshop will be held on:
