Sue Whitmore – (FynArts Festival, Hermanus)

We happened to find Sue Whitmore’s art completely by accident when we popped into the Pure South gift store in Hermanus Main Road.

We were immediately taken with 4 paintings Sue had done. The paintings were hanging amongst bric-a-brac and ceramics but all the same, they were captivating. Simple in subject matter but exquisitely rendered in the softest, muted, beachy shades. Detailing was left out to enhance the ‘moment’ rather than capturing a story. There’s a kind of innocence portrayed …. The love between man and his dog is strongly represented in pose and movement.
