Lockstep’s End-of-Year Function with ITZ

In The Zone facilitated a fun and festive, collaborative art piece for an end-of-the-year function at Lockstep, in Cape Town.

Each participant got a postcard-size piece of a famous painting and it was up to them to work out the whole picture which turned out to be a cropped section of Matisse’s “Goldfish”, circa 1912. Once they had worked that out, everyone had to figure who their ‘painting neighbour’ was so that they could co-ordinate and share paint colours etc.

After drawing up their own sections, they once again grouped to check that each piece corresponded with its neighbour correctly. A few minor alterations were made and then it was ready-steady-paint!

A cacophany of banter, chatter and chirps could be heard while busy hands were mixing and applying paint.

At times, the whole room became quiet as a mouse, as the Lockstep set, got ‘in the zone’.

There were times of crazy team work and times of quiet solo sessions.

As the end drew nearer, the final touches were put in place while the excitement rose as everyone could finally see their Lockstep masterpiece coming together.

Whoohoo! Celebrations, jubilation and smiles all round as Lockstep finally completed their Matisse to hang on their office walls. A fine job. A fine time. A fine day …. and then lunch was served.
